About Ted's Threads

Ted's Threads was born out of our fight as a family to afford our family dog Teddy's cancer treatments. Amidst the trials and tribulations our family had already faced during the start of COVID-19, we also received the difficult news that Teddy had been diagnosed with a dual diagnosis (i.e., lymphoma cancer and Thyroid tumor).

Not only would he have to sustain multiple rounds of chemo, but then also undergo surgery to remove the tumor from his neck. Up to this point Teddy had been lively, active, and his normal loving self. Together, as a family, we decided we would all pitch in what we could afford to help Teddy fight his cancer diagnosis and live a healthy life.

As treatment went on, medical bills, tests, scans, food changes, medication all began to add up and became very burdensome for our family as a unit. COVID impacted some of our family members' jobs directly, with layoffs and pay reductions but we weren’t going to back down from trying our best to save one of our own.

We began to brainstorm ways we could continue to afford the medical bills as they were stacking up quickly, and one day while Teddy was laying on the floor and we were folding laundry, a sweater fell down by his face, and boom the idea came. Call it fate, a sign, or a coincidence, Teddy in his own way helped us find a way to help save his life.
